Happy, happy day!!

I had to document today to remember forever! This is the day Charlotte took steps all by herself!!! Walking back and forth between her daddy and me! She started out taking a couple of steps and worked up to about 10 steps between us!!! We have been waiting for this for so long. I knew once she got back to daycare that this would happen, she would finally walk!!!!

Making a tent

Just before heading back to work after the summer, we were hanging out on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. Dave and I had been to work for a few days that week for professional development, but students didn't start until after Labor Day. We didn't have to work that Friday and so we decided to spend the day in our jammies! Charlotte and I made a tent for the first time in the living room. She loved playing in it and we hung out in it all morning, playing, watching TV, cuddling. It was so much fun!!

Here is the outside of the cool tent we made!

We put Charlotte's chair inside and she hangs out in it with a blanket!

Just chillin in the tent!

Just a bit of cuteness!

Charlotte's hair is finally long enough to get it into pigtails. This is her looking adorable at dinner one night after Dave got back from DC. She was eating her lollipop after dinner. :)

"Look mama, a pop!!"

Her new thing is "One more time...."

Loving her pop!! :)

I was trying to get her to say cheese! She finally did and this is what I got!

Daddy was away for a week!

From August 12th to the 18th Dave was away in Washington DC with the church youth group working in soup kitchens and other things. Charlotte and I were on our own for the week. It was hard being on our own for the week, but we had some nice bonding time just the 2 of us. We got out a few days that week and some days we just hung around the house.
One night after dinner we took a walk up to our town common. Charlotte loves to just hang out up there. We play with sticks, grass, leaves, pinecones, whatever we can find. :) We watch the cars passing by and she loves to look for big trucks and motorcycles. :)

Here's a stick mama!!

She was scooting away from me! :)

Do you want a leaf?

I love her beautiful face! :)

Just hanging out and watching the world go by.

One afternoon we needed to just get out of the house. We headed to this little country store not far from us and they make very yummy sandwiches there. We wandered around the store some and then bought a sandwich and some other treats. Charlotte and I shared the turkey sandwich, ate some pretzels, and watched the cars and big trucks going by. When we were done, we wandered around the back and checked out the alpaca. They are beautiful animals. They wouldn't come close though and Charlotte was getting frustrated. She really wanted to pat them. We couldn't really get over to them in her stroller. I didn't have the off roading stroller with me that day!

A pretty dragonfly landed on the fence in front of us.
We did head out to Old Sturbridge Village that week as well with our friends Laura and Abby. Charlotte loves to play and hang out with Abby. :) That Saturday when Dave arrived back home, Charlotte was so excited to see him. She practically flew out of my arms when she saw him get out of the car. She wouldn't let go of him and cried when he left for a minute to use the bathroom. She just kept hugging him. It was so sweet and Dave absolutely loved it!!

August 11th

On August 11thwe headed to Cape Cod for Dave's cousin Stephanie's wedding. We spent the weekend in Dennis enjoying some time with Dave's family. We arrived Friday afternoon and that evening the 3 of us went to dinner with Nana and Papa. Dave's sister and her family didn't arrive until later that evening. On Saturday we tried to find a place to eat breakfast and after driving around for awhile, we finally did. We spent more time in the car then we did eating breakfast! That's what happens during the summer on Cape Cod! We got back to our hotel and spent some time with Dave's sister and Charlotte played with her cousins. Charlotte and I both took a nap for a couple of hours and then it was time to get ready for the wedding.

Charlotte is chilling out watching her favorite show, Pingu on Netflix
while Dave and I got ready for the wedding.

After the ceremony, we hung out in the Dennis Inn eating some appetizers
and the kids played on the stairs. Charlotte was happy to have stairs just her size!

Allison and I tried to get a decent picture of the 3 kids,
but it was quite the challenge. Kaelyn looks great in this one!

Charlotte wanted to escape and play on the stairs some more. I love the look on her face!

Trying to get one of Nathan and Charlotte.

They are both smiling, but Charlotte didn't want to look at the camera. :)

Little miss super model was posing for pictures nearby! :)
I think this was the best we could get!

Charlotte was on the move again!

Look at that cute bum!! :)

It took a long time before dinner was served and Charlotte was exhausted. We didn't get back to the hotel until around 9:00. We had to get up early the next morning to head home. Dave was leaving on the 12th to go to Washington DC for the week with our church youth group. Here is Charlotte relaxing on the bed in the hotel room before I got her ready for bed. As long as she has her lamby and her Nuk, she is good to go!
