First play & a visit with Nana & Papa

This weekend has been filled with fun. First on Friday our town finally did trick or treat, which I already blogged about. On Saturday we skipped horseback riding to take Charlotte to her first play. My good friend's daughter was in Charlotte's Web at the local theatre. Charlotte did surprisingly well. The first 1/2 she sat and watched in amazement. After the intermission she didn't make it much longer, but I'm surprised at how long she did. We left and headed down to my in-law's house for an overnight. They took us out to get new shoes for Charlotte because her new braces are bigger. We were also able to try on some boots to get an idea for her snow boots.
On Sunday we got up, had breakfast, & then the 3 of us took a walk up to town, which is about 2 miles. Charlotte rose in the stroller most of the way. She loved playing in Nana & Papa's front yard. We explored the leaves, flowers, and she kicked a ball around the yard. She was so pooped she took a 3 hour nap! We head home after dinner and on Monday we have no school. We will probably head out to Old Sturbridge Village in the morning since its going to be beautiful.

Day 10-Something I can't live without

New braces

I can't believe I forgot to post that Charlotte got her new braces! Dave took her to pick them up Wednesday. She's required to do a little more work in them. There is less stability in her knees and ankles now. She's moving much quicker in them! When I got home, she was so excited to show them to me. I can see that she has more confidence now too!! :)

Day 9- Small

No, this picture doesn't mean anything. We aren't having another baby or anything. Someone on Facebook thought that's what this meant!! I just needed something "small" to take a picture of!

Halloween Take 2

Our town postponed Trick or Treat because of hurricane Sandy. It was tonight, which felt very weird because of the snow and its 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. It was still fun and Charlotte was very excited. We went to a few of the neighbor's houses and walked up to our church too. She walked all over and was very polite saying "Trick or Treat" and she always said "Thank you!" She totally got the concept this time, especially after watching Dora's Halloween a few times!! She kept saying she wanted to "Trick or Treat like Dora & Boots!"
She loved wearing her costume again and walking around with her little friend Abby. ;)
It was hard to get pictures of her since she was all over the place and so excited. My friend got a decent family picture. Charlotte is saying "cheese" but she looks like she's in pain! Ha ha!!

Day 8-Something I do everyday

Everyday I have a cup of coffee and log my calories!!

Music and dancing!

It looks like we'll be heading to this new music class every week!! Charlotte adores it and had so much fun. It got a little loud, but we loved watching her dance & play!! The woman who runs it has an amazing voice. Today Dave and I both were able to go. She's moving around so well in her new braces and it was good to see her participating.

Voting

We took Charlotte with us to vote today. She was so excited and kept saying, "Going to boat!!" We got to our polling station and she sat on my lap while I filled out my ballot. I quietly whispered in her ear what I was doing and she watched with fascination. She probably had no idea what I was talking about, but she knew she was excited to "boat." As we were leaving and I was leading her to Dave, a woman came up and gave her an "I Voted" sticker. She was so excited! We deposited the ballot and away we went. Charlotte kept saying something about wanting to "boat." We kept telling her, "yes...we went to vote!" She started to get upset with us and then we realized she wanted to go swimming and on a boat!! She couldn't understand why the "boat" wasn't there and why were we so excited about it!! She is just too funny!!

Day 6-- A favorite thing

My favorite things!! :)

Day 5-- 5:00

At 5:00 in the evening most nights we are eating dinner. Steak the other night!!

Church

Charlotte was adorable at church this morning. She was a little off, possibly from daylight savings. She told us she wanted to sit with us today, so we let her for a little bit and she did great. Our friend was taking her daughter down to the nursery, who Charlotte is good friends with. At first she started to go downstairs with them, but then lost it. I went down with her and while we were sitting down there she kept saying she wanted to sit upstairs with us. I decided to bring her back up and she did an awesome job. She sat and colored, flipped through the hymnal, for some reason she's been fascinated with flipping through our books. She stood up with us during the hymns and even took communion very well! I was so proud of her. We may try it again next week depending on how she is.
I'm so happy to be able to expose her to these things!! Next weekend we are taking her to a children's play that my friend's daughter is in. The play is Charlotte's Web!! I'm so excited since that is one of my favorite books!!

Day 4- TV

Watching 101 Dalmatians with Charlotte.

Haircut

Charlotte and I both had a haircut today. She desperately needed a trim and I needed a little more!! :)
She did awesome sitting in the chair by herself!! I did give her some fruit snacks to keep her busy, but she's always had fun at Mary's whenever we go!

Day 3-breakfast

Mmmm....mini bagel with egg and cheese.

Day 2-Color

Charlotte's colorful painting.

Hurricane Sandy

Well, Hurricane Sandy has come and gone! We are very fortunate that we or any of our friends for that matter didn't sustain any horrible damage. We had two hurricane days from school on Monday and Tuesday and they fell around the same time as the freak winter storm we had last year when we lost power for the week!! This time around it wasn't as cold or as long, but still frustrating. We lost power early evening Monday and got it back around lunchtime today. Charlotte and I were home an extra day because her daycare didn't have power either. What an adventure!! We explained to Charlotte that the wind knocked all of the lights and TVs off. She understood it a little, but it was still hard to grasp!

November Photo A Day

I'm participating in a photo a day thingy for November! Day 1 was something that begins with C. That's easy enough!!
